A SNAP location and healthy food finder, for children, that gamifies nutritional literacy, shopping and eating.  

1 in 4 in central Florida are uninsured. Orange County is the 5th in the US with the highest rate of uninsured children. 36% of their parents tell us that they live in a food dessert with no access to fresh nutritional food and that their SNAP benefits are used well before the 31st day to renew and they do not have money to buy food.

·         SNAP provides over 46 million participants with monthly benefits

·         Total number of children that are food insecure in Florida 1.1 million

·         Average SNAP household gross monthly income of $608 in Florida (nationally $731).

We attempted to create an augmented mobile game, similar to Pokemon Go, that tackles the problem of food deserts/nutrition illiteracy, for children. Find Food Now! provides an educational gaming environment for children to learn about nutrition, have better access to food by finding SNAP locations with healthy foods option, utilize their SNAP benefits to the max and learn to eat healthy with a simple trip to the grocery store.
